A lifelong passion for music combined with an upbringing in the theatre set up Alejandro Soto quite wonderfully to be a strong team player with Tulip Tree HAC. From getting down at Ecstatic Dances to organizing shows and public events, the skills and community Alejandro has developed come in handy on the regular. He is immensely grateful for the opportunity to bring music to such an amazing audience here in FW!
Make sure to check out his podcast Holding Down the Fort where he interviews a variety of Fort Wayne locals as they share their stories, motivations, and discoveries they have made on their life. Find it through his Patreon HERE!
Story:
After receiving his first guitar in 4th grade from an uncle who also had a penchant for plucking, Alejandro was off to the races. Early performances with the FW Youth Theatre and other local companies help foster an appreciation for live performance that carries on to this day in Alejandro’s work on and off stage, recognizing the power that a shared artistic experience has in bringing people together.
He played bass guitar in an easy-core band (think pop-punk but with breakdowns) in high school and ironically that kept him out of trouble on the weekends, being too busy with band practice to go party with the quote-on-quote popular kids. That early dedication to the music is still alive and well in Alejandro’s heart, providing a constant source of inspiration as he ventures into fresh musical territory with each set he creates as PUMAS, his DJ moniker.
Alejandro also runs Masiv Music, a production company with a mission of making the music accessible to the audience in digital and physical space.
