Expressive Arts
Instructor(s):
Julia

Description:
Expressive Arts is a broad term that encompasses creative practices used to express feeling and emotion. This can include visual art, dance, drama, music, poetry, or creative writing. The focus is on the experience of creating the work itself.
In our workshops, we focus on a multimedia visual art process -- layering different mediums until a piece feels complete. Rather than analyizing the final product, we emphasize the cathartic release the comes from letting go through art making.
Classes are often accompanied by guided movement or dance in between layers as pieces dry.
No experience is neccesary. This practice is open to those who have never picked up a paintbrush, as well as seasoned artists. We simply ask that you soften your judgement, stay present with the process, and allow discernment to guide what evolves or refines along the way.
This offering is well suited for those who feel a desire to create in response to their inner experience, who enjoy working with color and texture, or who are looking for a restorative, immersive creative outlet.
