Bodywork & Coaching

These include in-person bodywork, massage, and coaching sessions, as well as online coaching sessions

Which service should I choose?

If you are totally stumped and don't know what service you should choose, and you can visit my treatment room, I recommend booking a Somatic Thai Bodywork session, from there the appointment is very versatile, I can cater and shift it to your needs. If you are out of town and need an online session, you should book a Somatic Stress Release session. That service can also be adapted to your needs easily.

How do I prepare for bodywork?

It is recommended that you wear comfortable and warm clothing, something you would exercise or do yoga in is perfect. Wearing socks is also recommended so that you stay warm. While lying still over time, it is typical for the body to get cold. You can always take layers off, if you feel warm. It is also recommended not to eat a heavy meal right before your appointment.

How do you like to get paid?

Cash is always preferred. I also accept card, check, PayPal, Venmo, and CashApp. If you entered your appointment online, there is also an option to add payment there, if you prefer the payment to be contactless.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Our cancelation policy is at follows: IF YOU CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ITS SCHEDULED TIME YOU WILL BE CHARGED 100% OF THE FEE. Of course at times there are emergency situations, reach out to Julia if you have questions.

Do I need to show up early?

Showing up at your appointment time is perfect. There is usually someone I am seeing up until your appointment time. If you are early, there is a lobby in Isch Wellness Center with snacks, water, tea, and coffee.

Where are you located?

Julia's Treatment room is located in Isch Wellness Center off Jefferson Blvd. in the Sleepy Hollow Professional Suites. Her room in most easily accessed through the B entrance around the back of the building. You can also enter through the A entrance, you will need to go down a flight of stairs to get to her room on the bottom floor. Other services and events are located in different locations. Be sure to check what you are booking and where. All private appointments with Julia are at her treatment room at Isch Wellness Center.

What if I can't see you in person?

That is totally fine! We can work online through Zoom. Both coaching options can be done online. Specifically Somatic Stress Release can have a similar release as bodywork. We can work with anyone all over the world!

What after care do you recommend?

Staying well hydrated and resting for the next 24 hours is highly recommended. It can be a common response to feel sore or uncomfortable in your body after a session. In those situations I tell people to take it easy for the next 36-48 hours. You can also take a hot bath with a pint of ACV for 20 min max to help with the soreness.   Your body is re-organzing itself and processing the new awareness. It of course can feel strange at first, like you are a little fawn relearning their steps. Be patient and journal if that is supportive to you. If you are feeling extreme in your discomfort, feel free to reach out to Julia, she can give recommendations specific to your situation.

What is a sliding scale price model?

We offer a sliding scale price model to account for a wider range of socio-economic levels. If this feels too overwhemling, we ask you simply choose the standard price option.

Should I tip?

There is no pressure to tip, Julia sets her price she feels comfortable with to fulfill her expeneses and support her family. That being said, tips are always welcomed and will not be turned down.

Ecstatic Dance

This practice is freeform dance done in a 90-120 minutes container. Done with no shoes, no talking, and no drugs or alcohol, this movement meditation is intended for healing and liberation.

What do I wear?

We invite you to dress in fun clothing if you want. Costumes, colorful clothes, wild outfits, onesies, whatever brings you joy. Of course this is not required, and most of all we encourage you to be comfortable and feel authentic.

What do I bring?

You may bring a blanket or mat to sit on during opening and closing circles, if that would help with your comfort. You are also invited to bring something to add to the altar if you wish. This could be an expression of your spirituality, your practice, or even something fun that you want to share with others. Ideas: candle, figure, cards, glitter, facepaint, scarves, dancing prop, book, art, poetry, inspiration...etc.

Where are you located?

We meet for our reocurring ecstatic dance at the Fort Wayne Dance Collective. The building is downtown Fort Wayne, 437 E Berry St Suite 203, which is above the Cinema Center. There are stairs and/or an elevator.

When do you meet

Our reocurring dance currently meets on the first Sunday of the month from 6PM-8PM. Pay attention to our email newsletter for special events and any changes or additions to our regular schedule.

What if I am late or need to leave early?

All human beings are welcome to this event, there is no need to have previous experience. It is natural to feel hesitant and nervous on attending your first dance, from there most people feel welcomed, at ease, and freedom in the space. You are not required to come the whole time, so if you discover it is not for you, no hard feelings, you are welcome to leave.

What does sliding scale mean?

This means that we can keep our events accessible to all and sustainable for the organizers and space providers. These events take a lot of work and have a variety of costs on our end. We want our time and costs covered. Ultimately, we need an energy exchange, so if you want to do a work trade, that is absolutely an option too. Please email us here with your request.

I want to be a DJ!

If you are interested in being one of the rotating DJs, please let us know here. To DJ, we request you attend one dance.
